South Stradbroke Island Photo Walk

South Stradbroke Island was a one of our family holiday destinations while I was growing up, so when I was invited to come along to a ‘Photo Walk’ hosted by Gold Coast Tourism with Lauren Bath and gold Coast Adventures, I jumped at the chance. Here is a look back at some images collected from the day.
So a Photo Walk is kind of like an Instameet but with more of a moving itinerary. Each month, Insta-guru Lauren Bath and Gold Coast Tourism host a photo walk to one of the different regions of the Gold Coast, taking along a small group of local photographers and Instagram enthusiasts. The good thing about the group is there are different styles so it is always interesting not not only see how others work, but to see what they come up with from the day.
The Photo Walk for March took us to South Stradbroke Island. Arriving at McLaren’s Landing just after lunch time, we were taken out to the surf beach for some exploration and beach activities. First up, beach bike riding and it ain’t easy!
The legendary @jasoncharleshill went exploring the vast sand dunes that line the beach.
@digitaldaydreams snapped @caseyeveleighphotography also mucking around in the dunes.
@karlblack got down low to capture shell reflections in the low tide.
@exploringthegoldcoast made friends with one of the shy locals.

And @laurenepbath got us all together for a classic instameet jumping shot – fun!
After an awesome afternoon out on the surf side, we were taken back to McLaren’s Landing in time for a stunning sunset with coconut cocktails, a delicious dinner and a spectacular fire twirling show. https://instagram.com/p/06EMWAwDvI/?taken-by=matthewtaylorthomashttps://instagram.com/p/03kD_4QDoz/?taken-by=matthewtaylorthomashttps://instagram.com/p/1Fu9nCwDte/?taken-by=matthewtaylorthomas
